Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Lead Engineer to run the Security Operations Center, ensuring proactive threat detection, incident response, and team performance.

The role reports to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity and collaborates across IT and compliance to align security with business goals. You will lead a team of SOC analysts and engineers, oversee SIEM monitoring, threat hunting, and policy optimization, while driving key metrics and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with leadership experience
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC GCIH, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus
• Proficiency with security tools and scripting languages; strong networking and OS knowledge

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop the SOC team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Oversee incident detection, triage, containment, and post-incident analysis to minimize impact
• Perform proactive threat hunting, malware analysis, and investigations; integrate threat intel
• Tune and optimize SOC tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, vulnerability mgmt); refine policies and playbooks
• Develop KPIs and dashboards; report threats and defenses to executives
• Contribute to SOC strategy, budgeting, tool evaluations, and compliance audits
• Serve as escalation point and coordinate with internal teams and external partners during threats
• Ensure 24/7 SOC coverage with hands-on support and continuous process improvement
• Assist with achieving/maintaining CMMC, ISO 27001, and other accreditations
• Support daily IT tickets and projects as needed
