Job summary

DJ's Landscape Management is seeking on-call Seasonal Snow Salt Truck Drivers for the upcoming winter season in Grand Rapids, MI. Responsibilities include operating a salt truck, following routes, and maintaining safety and quality standards in cold weather.

Positions are part-time and seasonal (Nov 15 – Apr 15) with potential for full-time based on performance. Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour, with training provided and CDL/Chauffeur licenses required or in process.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL A or CDL B with air brakes or Chauffeur's License with no restrictions.
• MDOT license, or a plan to acquire one with company assistance.
• At least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Access to reliable transportation to and from work and willing to work in extreme weather.
• On-call availability including nights, days, holidays and weekends; smartphone required.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow salt truck to keep roads safe according to customer specs.
• Work safely and meet quality standards in challenging winter conditions.
• Log hours, activities and materials accurately for each shift.
• Learn routes and complete training with onboarding.
• Be available on-call during the winter season from November to April.

Duration

• Position is available for the winter season, typically from November 15 to April 15, with opportunities for full-time positions based on performance and business needs.

Requirements

• Complete all training, onboarding, snow removal safety, and route learning
• Work safely to complete snow removal to customer specifications and quality standards
• Positive attitude and willingness to work in challenging weather conditions.
• Submit details of hours, activities and materials in an accurate and timely manner
• Must have access to reliable transportation to & and from work and be able to work in extreme weather conditions including subfreezing temperatures and heavy precipitation
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Valid CDL A License, CDL B w/ Air Brakes, or Chauffeur's License with no restrictions required
• Valid MDOT (company will assist in acquiring one)
• Available for on-call work including nights, days, holidays, and weekend work as needed
