Job summary

State of South Carolina's Department of Social Services seeks an Eligibility Case Manager in Spartanburg County. The role involves processing SNAP and TANF applications, conducting eligibility interviews (including LEP clients with interpreters), and maintaining accurate case records.

Travel within the state for training and meetings is required. A High School Diploma and at least one year of experience in Economic Services Programs are required; a Bachelor’s degree may substitute.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; one year of experience in Economic Services Programs preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or higher may substitute for required program experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel within the state for training and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Process SNAP and TANF applications and renewals; determine eligibility and authorize benefits as applicable.
• Conduct quality interviews for SNAP/TANF via phone or in person; use interpreters as needed.
• Maintain case records and prepare reports in the agency system; document client activities.
• Identify and document overpayments; refer to Benefit Integrity Unit and prepare supporting materials for Fair Hearings.
• Provide Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter services as directed.
• Protect PII and safeguard agency networks and data.
