Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Specialist (CNTY) to administer SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP benefits in a county office. The role involves conducting daily interviews, processing applications, and maintaining confidential case records.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma and at least one year in Economic Services; a Bachelor's Degree can substitute for one year of experience. Valid driver's license and field work are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least one year of experience in Economic Services programs.
• Bachelor's Degree may substitute for one year of relevant program experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts a minimum of 15 quality interviews per day for SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and renewals.
• Processes SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP applications and/or recertifications by determining eligibility and authorizing benefits.
• Maintains case records and files in agency designated system with confidential, timely documentation.
• Identifies and documents overpayments; prepares documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as directed.
• Participates in required trainings, meetings, and maintains data security and privacy.
• Performs Red Cross shelter duties or other emergency shelter duties as directed.
• Performs other related duties as requested.
