Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; substitution options as described in the qualifications.
• Experience or para-professional background may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Two years of full-time para-professional experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Learns to manage a workload of initial and ongoing eligibility determinations for SNAP and TANF programs based on bilateral criteria.
• Learns to provide case management for initial SNAP and TANF eligibility and changes.
• Learns to calculate monthly income and expenses to ensure accurate budgeting.
• Documents verifications and case activity using a computerized or paper file.
• Ensures accurate receipt of entitled benefits by reviewing data from customers and systems.
• Assists customers with applications and scheduling appointments.
• Interprets program policy and explains eligibility and ongoing responsibilities.
