Job summary
The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Specialist to support SNAP and EDSAP within the Economic Services Division. The role focuses on assisting families and individuals by evaluating applications, determining eligibility, and facilitating benefits.
You will conduct 7–9 quality interviews daily, maintain confidential case records, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required with relevant program experience.
- Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- Experience handling SNAP applications and income/eligibility is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidential client information and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct 7–9 quality interviews per day for SNAP applications/ renewals.
- Process SNAP/EDSAP applications and determine eligibility for benefits.
- Maintain case records in the agency system with accurate documentation.
- Identify overpayments and prepare referrals for Benefit Integrity Unit.
