Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Smokehouse Pit Master to lead guest interactions and drive engagement on the store floor. You will set the tone for a fun, high-energy Smokehouse department, demonstrating expert service and ensuring product quality and safety.

You will train and guide Smokehouse staff, perform meat prep and light cutting, and participate in samples and upselling to guests. This role requires strong communication and multi-tasking in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• On the sales floor, serve as the Pit Master with dedication to smoked meat.
• Interact with guests and hosts to create an engaging environment.
• Ensure smokehouse staff provide fun, friendly service.
• Engage guests with fresh Smokehouse samples and suggestive selling.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Perform tasks described in the Pit Master character performance description.
• Operate department according to merchandising and operational standards.
• Maintain product quality to Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to staff.
• Handle product prep, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service.
• Maintain HACCP logs as necessary.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.
