Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Pit Master for our smokehouse department in North Carolina. You will personally lead guest interactions, perform live meat preparation, and ensure product quality and sanitation while delivering fun, engaging service.

You will train and mentor staff, manage light cutting duties, and uphold merchandising standards to create a memorable guest experience. Must be 18+, able to lift up to 50 lb, and work on the sales floor with enthusiasm.

Qualifications

• Friendly, energetic, and outgoing personality required.
• Active guest engagement and willingness to have fun with guests.
• Ability to perform in front of large crowds and draw attention to the Smokehouse department.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple duties simultaneously.
• Must stay in character and work well with others.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Strong communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Breadth of knowledge in deli and meat department operations."
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests and hosts in a fun and engaging manner.
• Provide engaging service and smokehouse samples.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operating standards.
• Maintain quality and sanitation according to standards.
• Provide guidance and training to staff.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Handle product preparation, receiving, stocking and guest service tasks.
• Ensure HACCP information logs are maintained.
