Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a dynamic Pit Master for our Smokehouse department to lead guest interactions and ensure top quality products. You will engage guests with samples, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and train team members to deliver friendly service in a fun, brand-aligned environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on meat preparation, adherence to merchandising standards, and active involvement in day-to-day operations to grow guest loyalty and store performance.

Qualifications

• Friendly, energetic and outgoing personality.
• Active guest engagement and willingness to have fun with guests.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Culinary knowledge preferred.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.

Responsibilities

• On the sales floor, take ownership of the Smokehouse footprint and standards.
• Interact with guests and hosts in a fun and friendly manner.
• Ensure all smokehouse staff provide friendly and engaging service.
• Engage guests through fresh samples and suggestive selling.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Follow the Pit Master performance directions and maintain merchandising standards.
• Operate the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain product quality and sanitation throughout the department.
• Provide guidance and training to Smokehouse staff as needed.
• Perform product prep, receiving, stocking and guest service as required.
• Maintain HACCP logs and assist with light meat cutting.
