Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Pit Master for the Smokehouse department to engage guests with enthusiastic service and maintain high product quality. You will lead team activities, perform meat preparation and maintain sanitation, while driving sales through samples and effective merchandising.

The role requires multi-tasking, strong guest service skills, and the ability to work with others in a fast-paced store environment. Physical stamina and a customer-first attitude are essential.

• Willingness to learn multiple tasks/technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Become the Pit Master on the sales floor, driving engagement with smoked meats.
• Interact with guests and hosts to create a fun, engaging environment.
• Ensure smokehouse staff deliver friendly, high-quality service.
• Promote samples and use suggestive selling to guests.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Perform duties per the Pit Master character performance description.
• Operate the department per merchandising and operational standards.
• Maintain Lowes Foods’ quality standards for products.
• Maintain sanitation and safety across the department.
• Provide guidance, training and feedback to staff.
• Handle product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as needed.
• Keep HACCP logs up to date.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Handle any other duties assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.
