Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Pit Master to lead the Smokehouse, interact with guests, and ensure engaging service. You will manage product quality, sanitation, and staff training while maintaining department standards.

The role requires the ability to perform in front of crowds, multi-task, and stay in character. Prior meat cutting experience and culinary knowledge are preferred. 18+ and physical endurance are required.

• Culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Able to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of deli as well as meat department operations.
• Supervise people including training and development.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Become the Pit Master, the one person in the store dedicated to smoked meats.
• Interact with guests in a fun, friendly manner.
• Ensure smokehouse staff provides engaging service.
• Engage guests through samples and suggestive selling.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Operate department according to merchandising and operational standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
