Job summary

ADT, the #1 smart home security provider in the U.S., is seeking a Smart Home Consultant to guide residential customers in designing a home setup that protects what they value most. You’ll combine hands-on installation with consultative sales, educating customers on our app and features.

You’ll activate systems, install hardware and IoT devices, and ensure solutions fit each home’s needs while delivering proactive support and upsell opportunities that strengthen protection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; location-based licensing may be needed.
• Strong customer‑focused communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with smart devices and connected technologies.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Ability to advise on optimal system design and setup.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Ability to climb and lift 10+ pounds; work indoors/outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in‑home consultations and assessments
• Recommend smart home and security solutions based on customer goals
• Install and activate security hardware, cameras, IoT devices, and smart home products
• Integrate new products with the customer’s existing setup
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical questions
• Complete customer onboarding and product education
• Build long‑term customer confidence through proactive support
• Identify upsell opportunities that strengthen home protection
