Job summary

NRG Energy's Vivint Smart Home team in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Field Service Professional to install, service, and support cutting-edge smart home technology and help create safer, more connected homes.

You will build trusted relationships with customers, diagnose issues, perform installations, and educate on features while pursuing uncapped commission opportunities. The role requires a four-day, 10-hour schedule with on‑site work and licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to pass licensing requirements under applicable law.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to act with integrity while building rapport with diverse customers.
• Willingness to learn and use technology.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install and service smart home security, thermostat and automation systems, including cameras and smart locks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Educate customers on product features and functionality.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every appointment.
• Conduct onsite evaluations to recommend and sell equipment upgrades or service enhancements.
• Maintain quality, safety and installation standards.
• Manage daily appointments, work orders and equipment.
• Identify service recommendations and referral opportunities when appropriate.
