Job summary

Siemens AG in Laurel, MD offers a Smart Building Systems Specialist Intern position within the Smart Infrastructure organization. Interns gain hands-on experience on HVAC automation and building systems, with field work, sales exposure, and project/service operations components.

You will rotate through job sites learning installation, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning while collaborating with engineering and project teams to address challenges and document activities for customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year technical program in HVAC/Building Automation.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for the 10-week program.
• Willing to work onsite at the Laurel, MD location with no relocation stipend.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable with on-site environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, etc.).
• Hands-on with tools and use of laptops/tablets.
• Physically capable to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Strong communication and customer interaction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• 80% Field Technician Experience on job sites: install, program, and service HVAC automation.
• 10% Sales Exposure: learn how solutions are designed for customers.
• 10% Project & Service Operations: rotate with service and project teams.
• Assist in diagnosing issues and supporting new installations and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies.
• Document service activities and provide basic training to customers.
