Job summary

Siemens is hosting Smart Building Internship Program interns at Plymouth, MI near Detroit. Interns will spend most of their time on job sites with experienced technicians, learning installation, programming, and servicing HVAC automation in commercial buildings.

A portion will gain exposure to sales and project operations while supporting commissioning and ongoing maintenance. The program expects a 40-hour work week for 10 weeks, with on-site work in the local area and no relocation stipend.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or state-recognized GED
• Education: Students currently enrolled in or who have recently completed a 2-year Technical College/School pursuing a degree in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, Mechanical Engineering / Technology, Electrical Engineering / Technology, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment or related program.

Responsibilities

• 80% Field Technician Experience: spend time on job sites with Siemens technicians learning installation, programming and service of HVAC automation systems.
• 10% Sales Exposure: learn how Siemens engages customers and designs solutions for improved building performance and safety.
• 10% Project & Service Operations: rotate through service and project delivery teams to support installation to long-term maintenance.
