Siemens invites motivated students to join the Smart Building Internship Program in Plano, TX. You will gain hands-on experience in HVAC automation, visiting job sites and working closely with seasoned technicians.

The internship emphasizes field training, exposure to sales activities, and involvement in project delivery. Eligible candidates are pursuing relevant two-year technical programs and must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pursuing or recently completed 2-year technical college in HVAC controls/building automation or related field.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10-week program (May–July or June–August).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; visa not provided.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments (rooftops, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, outdoors).
• Hands-on with hand tools, laptops, tablets, and other tech to review programs and diagnose systems.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; quick to learn new software for automation and control systems.
• As part of the application, enrollment status must be confirmed.

Responsibilities

• 80% Field Technician Experience: on-site training installing, programming, servicing HVAC automation in commercial buildings.
• 10% Sales Exposure: observe how solutions are designed for customers and building performance.
• 10% Project & Service Operations: rotate with service and project delivery teams to support installations and maintenance.
• Visit customer sites with technicians to troubleshoot HVAC and building automation systems; assist in commissioning.
