Job summary

Siemens is offering a Smart Building Systems Specialist Internship in Plano, TX. You will gain hands-on experience on job sites, learning installation, programming, and service of HVAC automation systems while shadowing experienced technicians and engaging with sales and project teams.

The program runs for 10 weeks with May–August start dates; first-time interns earn $22/hr and returning interns $24/hr, with 401K eligibility. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-recognised GED.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year Technical College/School pursuing HVAC Controls, Building Automation, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related program.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the 10-week program (May–July or June–August).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments and with tools and devices used in field service.

Responsibilities

• Spend most of your time on job sites with experienced technicians, learning installation, programming and service of HVAC automation systems.
• Spend time with sales team to understand how building solutions are designed and presented to customers.
• Rotate through service and project delivery teams to learn installation through long-term maintenance and upgrades.
• Visit customer sites with technicians to troubleshoot and assist in installations and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in drawings and challenges on site.
• Document service activities and communicate system operations to customers and team members.
