Job summary

Comparion Insurance Agency seeks a Commercial Insurance Specialist to prospect small business opportunities and advise on coverage across multiple carriers. You’ll quote, bind, and renew policies through a consultative sales approach while maintaining strong client and referral relationships.

Responsibilities include developing new business, cross-selling, and coordinating policy placement and renewals with carriers, in a fast-paced agency environment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with small commercial products: BOP, GL, property, commercial auto, workers’ comp, cyber, umbrella and surety/bonds.
• Experience networking and driving top-of-funnel leads from various sources.
• Experience using agency management systems and comparative raters.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Property & Casualty license (or progress toward them). You will need to obtain licenses upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop new small commercial accounts (revenues under $10M) through prospecting, referrals, networking, and inbound leads.
• Counsel and advise prospects and policyholders on protection and coverage needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Conduct underwriting risk evaluation and present quotes by obtaining quotes from multiple carriers.
• Meet goals for volume of quality new business and cross-sell opportunities within guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal and agency partners to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
• Build relationships with referring agents to create COI/lead streams.
• Provide timely service for endorsements, cancellations, audits, and claims liaison as needed.
• Stay current on carrier appetite, new products, underwriting guidelines, and industry trends.
