H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist for Block Advisors to support small business clients by maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and delivering bookkeeping services that inform financial decisions.

You will partner with Account Managers and Tax Advisors to ensure compliance, generate monthly/quarterly reports, and build lasting client relationships while upholding high standards of confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of double-entry accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures.
• National Bookkeeper and Payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• MS Office (Word, Excel) proficiency.
• Ability to multi-task in multiple window applications.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping software and data management.

Responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions using double-entry bookkeeping with accuracy and compliance.
• Data entry, account maintenance, and transaction categorization.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Process payroll and provide payroll-related support.
• Prepare financial statements: balance sheets, income statements, cash flow.
• Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports for client decision-making.
• Support Tax Advisors with data entry and uploading returns.
• Investigate discrepancies and maintain high client service standards.
