Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, general office, veterinary animal care, or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of office equipment and multi‑window software applications, including Vetview database.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Typing speed 35 words per minute or higher.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment requiring multitasking under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Punctuality and attendance are critical.

  • Provide assistance to clients regarding veterinary services, communicating hospital charges and policies.
  • Receive incoming patients at the Emergency front desk and route calls to appropriate care teams.
  • Assist in triage of patients, completing patient profile information for level‑of‑care determination.
  • Enter patient information into the hospital database system Vetview to create a chart for service charges.

Job description

Small Animal Emergency Front Desk - Student Worker

This position is responsible for properly receiving and routing phone calls into the hospital from multiple callers. The front desk employee will serve as the first point of contact for patients, provide information on services, and support other staff to ensure coverage. Minimum qualifications include customer service experience, knowledge of office software, and a typing speed of 35 wpm or higher. Physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs and repetitive motions.
