Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a manufacturing associate to operate and set up slitting equipment, ensure product specifications are met, and perform quality checks throughout the process. This role requires using precise measuring tools and adhering to safety rules in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Complete set-up and operational tasks of slitting to meet customer specs and production requirements.
• Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers, calipers).
• Adherence to safety rules and procedures.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally more as needed.

Responsibilities

• Make and inspect arbor and overarm set-ups to ensure compliance with production instructions.
• Reconcile coil identity to production and load coil.
• Thread coil through slitter head, cropping non-complying material.
• Thread mults into recoiler.
• Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before during and after processing.
• Check and record gauge width, hardness, camber, burr and surface condition.
• Set gauge monitoring system and ensure calibration.
• Adjust machine setup to correct defects during slitting.
• Communicate non-compliance production to supervisor or shift lead.
• Band/secure and identify slit mults.
• Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or perform preventive maintenance.
• Remove scrap and empty hopper; clean slitter area.
