Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a Slitter Operator in Smyrna, TN to set up and operate a slitter per customer specs. You will inspect equipment, measure dimensions, and ensure production quality while aligning parts and materials to instructions.

The role runs Friday–Sunday, 5:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with starting pay of $18.75–$23.75 per hour. Responsibilities include setting up and loading coils, threading through the slitter head, and maintaining gauges.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform complete set-up and operation of slitting per customer specs.
• Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers.
• Safety rules adherence and compliance is required.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a slitter according to customer specifications and work orders.
• Regularly inspect equipment and measure dimensions to ensure conformance.
• Thread coil through slitter head and into recoiler, cropping non-conforming material.
• Record gauge width, hardness, camber, burr and surface condition.
• Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed during slitting.
• Communicate non-compliance to supervisor or shift lead and assist maintenance.
