Job summary
Steel Technologies is seeking a Slitter Operator to set up and operate a slitter per customer specifications and work orders. The role includes regular equipment inspection, measuring dimensions, aligning parts, and producing material according to production instructions.
Responsibilities include threading coils, croping non-conforming material, maintaining quality by measuring gauges, and assisting maintenance with troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform complete set-up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements
- Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers
- Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the slitter according to customer specifications and work orders
- Inspect equipment regularly and measure dimensions to ensure production accuracy
- Thread coil through slitter head and crop non-complying material
- Thread mults into recoiler
- Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before, during and after processing
- Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions and perform preventive maintenance as necessary
