Job summary

STEELSUMMIT HOLDINGS INC. is seeking a setup operator to configure slitter arbors and ensure precise slit widths to meet customer orders. You will use tapes, calipers, micrometers, and setup software to create accurate shimless setups and verify tolerances.

Responsibilities include loading master coils, maintaining 5S in the work area, and assisting in training for the next operator phase while following safety protocols and production schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have high school education or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods in a production setting.
• Capable of communicating effectively and working in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line using spacers, knives, and stripper rings.
• Follow part numbers and instructions to determine required widths for orders.
• Use provided software and PN data to create shimless setups.
• Take measurements with tape measure, caliper, and micrometer and verify against specs.
• Record calibration results and input widths into the computer to generate setup information.
• Load and thread master coil to the slitter head; perform banding as needed.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping; participate in training of next phase operators.
• Adhere to safety protocols; assist with other duties as assigned.
