Job summary

St. Tammany Parish Library in Slidell is seeking a Librarian III-Slidell Branch Manager to oversee daily branch operations, staff scheduling, and patron services. The role requires ensuring facility upkeep, implementing policy, and maintaining service quality across all branch activities.

The position also involves performing administrative duties, training staff, and stepping in for any staff position as needed to ensure smooth operation of the branch.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library science (ALA-accredited) required.
• Minimum of three years librarian experience.
• Minimum of two years managing a library facility of comparable size.

Responsibilities

• Train and retrain staff on policies and procedures.
• Arrange staff schedules to provide optimum coverage.
• Motivate, coach, discipline and evaluate employees.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll and leave records.
• Maintain knowledge of library policies and procedures.
• Interpret policies and resolve staff and patron issues.
• Perform ongoing collection development.
• Notify maintenance and repair needs for building/grounds.
• Plan programs with Adult Programming Coordinator.
• Proctor exams.
• Oversee daily branch library functions and service quality.
• Perform other duties as designated by Administration.
