Job summary

St. Tammany Parish Library is seeking a Branch Manager for the small branch. You will oversee daily operations, schedule and supervise staff, ensure facility maintenance, and provide patron services.

You will lead programming and story times, perform administrative duties, and cover other duties as needed to keep the branch running smoothly. Qualifications include MLIS or equivalent, with three years library experience or five years full-time library experience; valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• MLIS with no minimum years of experience, college degree required with a minimum of three years of experience in a library setting, or five years of full-time library experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Manages, supervises, and participates in all daily service and support operations within a branch
• Trains new staff members and re-trains existing staff in policies and procedures and updates training as policies change
• Arranges staff schedules to provide optimum coverage and service to the branch
• Conducts Youth Services programs
• Interprets library policies, resolves staff and patron complaints and problems
• Plans and executes programs for all ages
