Job summary

South Shore Health System in Massachusetts is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to perform a wide range of sleep studies, score data, and prepare reports for physician review.

You will apply electrodes, monitor respiratory parameters, educate patients on CPAP use, and ensure safety throughout overnight studies.

The role requires BLS, a allied health program background, and 2+ years of experience; day-to-day collaboration with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited Allied Health program; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience as a polysomnographic technologist preferred.
• RST or RPSGT or ST Eligible - Registered Sleep Technologist (ABSM) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) or Sleep Tech Registry Eligible (new grad)
• BLS - Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of polysomnographic studies in the laboratory.
• Analyzes data, scores polysomnograms and compiles data into a report for physician review.
• Performs multiple sleep latency tests.
• Administers the sleep questionnaire to obtain complete accurate history/assessment.
• Applies electrodes and transducers; monitors patient throughout the study.
• Monitors patient safety and documents abnormal sleep, respiratory and cardiac patterns.
• Contacts physician when warranted by the patient’s condition.
• Maintains logs and completes charge documents.
