Job summary

Baystate Medical Center is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under supervision. You will perform polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, contribute to patient care and education, and may supervise other staff as needed.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years' experience as a polysomnographic technician, pediatric scoring proficiency, and BRPT certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technician with proficiency in all required competencies.
• Polysomnographic Technologist certification by BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists).
• Knowledge of polysomnography procedures and pediatric scoring.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze patient information to identify needs for testing and determine parameters with the ordering physician.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment, apply electrodes, and perform CPAP mask fitting as needed.
• Perform polysomnographic data acquisition and monitor study tracing quality for artifact-free signals.
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center protocols; generate reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and BRPT standards; participate in mentoring and staff oversight.
• Oversee and perform difficult procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and provide patient education.
