Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital seeks a Sleep Technologist to evaluate and treat sleep disorders, operate polysomnography equipment, and educate patients for center or home sleep apnea testing. The role supports patient care under medical supervision with emphasis on safety and data quality.

Key requirements include a sleep technology program completion, a high school diploma, and BLS certification; RPSGT or eligibility is preferred for advancement and professional recognition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a sleep technology program.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or eligible for RPSGT/RST.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient information to identify needs.
• Determines testing parameters in conjunction with physician and protocols.
• Verifies patient history, orders, and consent.
• Educates patients for in-center or home sleep testing.
• Applies electrodes/sensors and calibrates equipment for testing.
• Reviews data for quality and artifact correction.
• Performs PAP interfaces fittings and desensitization.
• Maintains safety and infection control procedures.
