Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Sleep Center in Woburn, MA is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for the night shift. The role conducts diagnostic sleep studies and therapeutic services, administers CPAP/BiPAP and oxygen, and ensures accurate data for physician review.

Requirements include completion of a recognized polysomnography program (1 year min) and BRPT eligibility with a plan to become registered within one year; CAAHEP/CoARC pathways are acceptable. BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nationally recognized polysomnography program (1 year+).
• Eligible to sit for BRPT examination or registry-eligible upon hire.
• BRPT registration within one year of hire preferred or required.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information from physician orders.
• Greets patients and assists with pretest questionnaires.
• Explains pretesting, testing and post-testing procedures to patients.
• Prepares room and equipment and verifies proper function.
• Applies electrodes and sensors per AASM guidelines.
• Performs sleep study and monitors PSG channels for quality.
• Initiates therapeutic interventions (CPAP/BiPAP/oxygen) as needed.
• Transfers sleep studies to server and documents observations.
• May assume charge role after training, at supervisor's discretion.

Polysomnography program (1 year+ duration)

CAAHEP/CoARC polysomnography program

AS degree in Respiratory Care or EEG training
