• Completion of medical terminology course
• CHAA Certified Healthcare Access Associate preferred

Responsibilities

• articulate information for patients, guarantors, and families with top customer service
• gather and enter information into the hospital system to expedite data collection, billing, and reimbursement
• work with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, insurance carriers, and other professionals to assist families in obtaining healthcare and financial services
• operate printers, fax machines, and general office equipment
• knowledge of insurance eligibility software
• multitask and stay composed in stressful situations while using appropriate resources
• use excellent interpersonal communication to represent the department
• knowledge of revenue cycle processes and scheduling, registration, collections, and telecommunications applications
• proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software and hardware
• understand the sleep center practices
