Job summary

Skydio seeks an experienced Director, Solutions Engineering for SLED to own the technical outcome for state and local government, education, and corrections across the US and Canada. This is a remote leadership role managing multiple teams and reporting to the VP of SLED Solutions Engineering.

You will build a high-performing organization, set hiring standards, and drive customer engagements with approximately 30% travel for deployments, field activities, and events.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant technical experience, including time in a customer-facing technical role.
• 2+ years leading leaders or a large team with a second layer.
• Proven ability to hire, onboard, and scale technical staff rapidly.
• Strong drone technology knowledge and Public Safety sUAS regulatory experience.
• Experience with state and local government procurement and contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-team Solutions Engineering org for SLED across the US and Canada.
• Own the technical win across SLED and manage the coverage model with the sales org.
• Partner with VP of SLED Sales on segmentation, territory design, and headcount.
• Represent customer needs inside Product and Engineering and translate into requirements.
• Oversee site assessments, proofs of concept, and field deployments with measurable value.
