Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Director of Solutions Engineering for SLED to lead a multi-team organization across the US and Canada. This remote role reports to the VP of Solutions Engineering and requires ~30% travel to engage with customers, sites, and events.

You will own the technical outcomes for state/local government and education, partnering with sales leadership to design segmentation, territory plans, and headcount strategies, while driving measurable improvements in deployments and outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical experience in customer-facing roles.
• 2+ years leading managers or large teams.
• Proven ability to scale organizations during fast growth.
• Strong understanding of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with state and local government procurement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the leaders in the SLED Solutions Engineering team and hire develop Senior Managers.
• Own the technical win across SLED and the coverage model with sales.
• Represent SLED in forecast, planning, and exec reviews; surface technical risks early.
• Own site assessment quality and proofs of concept.
• Guide integration and airspace strategy with CAD, dispatch, and data platforms.
