Job summary

Proofpoint is expanding our sales organization and seeking a field-based Account Manager to join our State, Local, & EDU (SLED) team. You will manage existing clients and drive net-new revenue within a named account territory.

Based in Houston or San Antonio, TX, you will build trusted advisor relationships with public sector decision-makers, forecast accurately, and collaborate across marketing, channel partners, and engineering to expand adoption.

Qualifications

• Meet or exceed annual sales quota for new revenue and existing bookings.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned State, Local & EDU (SLED) named accounts from prospecting to implementation.
• Drive net-new customer acquisition within the territory and establish Proofpoint as a trusted IT security advisor.
• Develop, strategize, and execute regional marketing/channel plans with end users, channel partners, and events.
• Forecast accurately and maintain CRM hygiene to ensure pipeline integrity.
• Build and expand relationships with decision-makers and influencers to grow solution adoption.
