Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Tooling Engineer to own the end-to-end tooling lifecycle from initial requirements through delivery to the production floor. You will design, develop, and implement tools, dies, gages, jigs, fixtures, and prototype models ensuring accessibility, economy, safety, and performance.

Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, safety, quality, facilities, program managers, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with 3D design software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
• Experience with GD&T and geometric tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end tooling lifecycle from design to production delivery.
• Design, develop and implement tools, dies, gages, jigs, fixtures, and prototype models.
• Review engineering changes for tooling impacts and develop bids and schedules.
• Engage with engineers, manufacturing, safety, quality, and suppliers regarding tooling quality, cost, and schedules.
• Lead process improvements within tool design product flow and represent Tool Engineering in meetings.
