Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control seeks an Associate Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead the Tool Planning team responsible for fabrication and modification of special tooling, including fixtures and jigs for missile assembly. You will drive Lean improvements and coordinate with cross‑functional groups to overcome tooling challenges.

The role requires strong leadership, a data‑driven approach, and proficiency with PLM/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams.
• Experience with special tooling such as assembly fixtures, drill jigs, mill fixtures.
• Proficiency with PLM/ERP systems like Windchill MPMLink and SAP.
• Data-driven mindset driving tooling improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the tool planning team to deliver tooling meeting program and production schedules.
• Drive continuous-improvement of tooling processes using data, lean principles, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to tool planners.
• Coordinate cross-functional solutions to tooling challenges with Production Ops, Program Eng, and stakeholders.
• Analyze and resolve programmatic issues from routine changes to high-risk problems.
• Collaborate with design/operations on tooling investigations and corrective actions.
• Partner with Global Supply Chain to align procurement with tooling needs and delivery dates.
• Communicate milestones, risks, and status to senior leadership and program stakeholders.
