Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Tooling Engineer to lead the end-to-end tooling lifecycle, from initial requirements through delivery to the production floor. You will design, develop and implement tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and prototypes for production or experimental use, balancing cost, safety and performance requirements.

• Experience with 3D design software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
• Experience with GD&T principles and blueprints.

• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering blueprint requirements.
• Experience leading projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end tooling lifecycle responsibility from requirements to production delivery.
• Design, development and implementation of tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures and prototypes.
• Engage with engineers, manufacturing, safety, quality, facilities, and suppliers on tooling quality, cost and schedules.
• Lead process improvements within tool design and represent Tool Engineering in stakeholder meetings.
