Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a Skills Instructor to empower adults with developmental disabilities to gain skills for employment, education, and community participation.

You will deliver person-centered instruction through community activities and support individuals in accessing resources to foster independence. Responsibilities include organizing outings, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support.

Qualifications

• Caring and compassionate approach to supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
• Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Be willing to undergo state and federal fingerprint background checks.
• CPR certification is required; TB test is needed (assistance available).
• Prior experience with developmental disabilities is a plus, but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and planning engaging activities.
• Take individuals on community outings for appointments, errands, or leisure.
• Track and document progress with accurate case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a professional team to ensure comprehensive support.
