Job summary

Thai Summit America is seeking a Press Maintenance Electrician to troubleshoot and maintain electrical, electromechanical, and electronic systems on stamping presses in a fast-paced automotive environment.

You will diagnose and program PLCs (Rockwell/AB, Siemens), HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives, perform PMs, and ensure safety standards including LOTO and arc flash compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years manufacturing electrical and machine maintenance experience.
  • Experience reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain press systems and automation across multiple platforms/generations.
  • Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and support from production engineering, quality assurance, and production teams.
  • Maintain compliance with Lockout/Tagout, NFPA 70E, guarding and OSHA/OHSA standards.

Job description

Primary Job Function

The Press Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all electrical, electromechanical, and electronic systems across stamping presses. This role ensures maximum equipment availability, safety compliance, and continuous production in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Press & Stamping Systems: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large presses, including press automation, transfer systems, coil lines, un-coilers, and straighteners – Across multiple platforms/generations of equipment.
  • Diagnose and reprogram PLCs (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo drives to maintain smooth production flow
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on machine/equipment
  • Maintain strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash safety standards (NFPA 70E), machine guarding, and OSHA/OHSA regulations.
  • Provide support in supplying quality parts for customers

  • Perform systematic troubleshooting on complex electrical faults (circuitry, sensors, safety relays, interlocks, and industrial networks)
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 – 5 years’ manufacturing experience with full range of operations, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and machine maintenance
  • Experienced in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical principle, systems, troubleshooting and repair: robotics, PLC and assisted automation, mechanical handling systems, and understands ladder logic.
  • Direct experience working with mechanical/hydraulic press controls, press safety blocks, light curtains, die protection sensors, and automation feeders.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex industrial electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements
  • Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, griping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the work day
  • Hand and eye coordination
  • Ability to sit stand and walk for extended periods of time (8 hours or more)
  • Ability to use a phone and computer keyboard
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport
  • Travel within the US and Canada up to 50%
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment
