Job summary

Thai Summit America is seeking a Skilled Trades Trainee for the 3rd shift to maintain production equipment, perform emergency repairs, install or modify machines, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role covers preventive maintenance, hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, robotics and PLCs, and collaboration with engineering and quality teams. Strong paperwork and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge in electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, robotics and PLCs.
• Experience in machine maintenance and preventive maintenance preferred.
• Enrolled in or completed skilled trades trainee coursework or program.

Skilled Trades Trainee 3rd Shift

Primary Job Function:

Maintain Machine/Equipment in top working conditions to minimize and eliminate down time. Perform emergency repair of machine/equipment during production. Perform installation, removal or modification of production machine/equipment. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Perform emergency repairs of machine and equipment during production


• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on machine/equipment


• Perform work on new machine/equipment


• Provide support in supplying quality parts for customers


• Work on problem solving teams


• Work with Production Engineering


• Work with Quality Assurance


• Work with Production


• Complete and submit required paperwork in a timely manner

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED


• 1year manufacturing experience preferred


• Machine maintenance with electrical and PLC classes or machine maintenance field


• Enrolled in or completed the classes required for the skilled trades trainee program


• Other requirement an equivalent combination of education and experience in machine/equipment maintenance


• Knowledgeable in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical principle, systems, troubleshooting and repair: robotics, PLC and assisted automation, mechanical handling systems, maintenance and repair

Training Requirements or Equivalents:

• New hire orientation


• ERP System Training

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements:

• Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.


• Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, griping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the work day


• Hand and eye coordination


• Ability to sit stand and walk for extended periods of time (8 hours or more)


• Ability to use a phone and computer keyboard


• Ability to work in manufacturing environment
