Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in physical therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Active PTA license in state(s) of practice is required.
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and licensure maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
• Assist in evaluations under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Help identify short- and long-term goals and treatment plans with the Physical Therapist.
• Deliver individual and group treatments covering strength, mobility, balance, and ROM activities as outlined in the plan.
• Assist in selecting therapy techniques/media and adapt as indicated.
• Monitor resident response to treatment and discuss modifications with the PT.
• Assist in creating and adjusting resident schedules with the PT and team.
• Adhere to department and resident schedules and modify as needed for treatment.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on equipment use.
• Participate in resident, family, and staff education.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in planning and follow-up of therapy programs.
• Maintain punctuality and productive schedules during shifts.
• Support Quality Assurance activities and CMS-compliant documentation in NetHealth EMR.
