Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Meat Cutter to perform duties cutting, prepping, displaying and selling meat products. You will uphold health and safety standards, provide courteous service to customers and Team Members, and help maintain quality and cleanliness in the department.

The role requires adherence to SOPs, ability to lift 50 pounds, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven ready products, cured meats).
• Checks product to meet WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Arrives on time, groomed, dressed and ready to work; attends trainings and meetings.
• Delivers excellent customer service and suggests related items to customers.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, stocking, and merchandising.
