Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a Ski & Ride School Manager at Solitude Ski & Ride School. You will oversee daily operations winter and summer programs, ensuring high-quality lesson experiences and efficient payroll, staffing, and safety processes.

Lead frontline teams, manage budgets, and collaborate with IT, mountain ops, and sales to enhance employee and guest experiences. Requires Level 2 PSIA/AASI or equivalent; Level 3 preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years in a leadership role within ski & ride school or outdoor recreation environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a team of supervisors to oversee on-hill and indoor staff to plan for and manage daily operations.
• Lead and supervise all functions of the ski school, including scheduling, staffing, inventory, timekeeping, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of supervisors, instructors, and support staff.
• Uphold a guest-centric approach, overseeing the delivery of high-quality lesson experiences and guest satisfaction.
• Work with risk and safety to adhere to policies and regulatory requirements.
• Draft revenue, labor, and expense budgets with the Snowsports Director.
