Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort seeks a proactive Ski & Ride School Manager to oversee winter operations and summer programs, ensuring high-quality lesson experiences while guiding supervisors and frontline staff. You will align payroll, safety, training, and hiring with organizational goals, driving guest satisfaction and staff engagement.

The role requires 5+ years in leadership, PSIA/AASI Level 2, and strong cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on efficient operations and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a leadership role within a ski & ride school or outdoor recreation setting.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills; motivate and adapt to teams with empathy and fairness.
• Excellent communication across 1:1, group, and cross-functional settings.
• In-depth knowledge of ski school operations and safety procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint; familiarity with HRIS/CMS/LMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate supervisors to oversee on-hill and indoor staff for daily operations.
• Lead ski school functions: scheduling, staffing, inventory, timekeeping, resource allocation.
• Recruit, train, and manage supervisors, instructors, and staff; provide feedback and performance reviews.
• Maintain guest-centric service, monitor guest experience metrics, resolve issues promptly.
• Work with risk and safety to adhere to policies and regulatory requirements.
• Draft revenue, labor, and expense budgets with the Snowsports Director; manage expenditures.
