Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking a Ski & Ride School Manager to oversee operations of the ski school and summer programs. You will support frontline leaders, ensure quality lesson experiences, and maintain staffing, budgets, and safety standards.

Reporting to the Snowsports Director, you will collaborate with IT, mountain operations, and rentals to optimize guest satisfaction and staff performance. A Level 2 PSIA/AASI or equivalent is required; Level 3 preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in a leadership role within a ski & ride school or outdoor recreation environment.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to support, motivate, and adapt to teams.
• Exceptional communication across 1:1, group, and cross-functional settings.
• In-depth knowledge of ski school operations, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Understanding of HRIS, CMS and LMS programs such as RTP, Flaik, and Workday.
• Budgeting, schedules, and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a team of supervisors to oversee on-hill and indoor staff for daily operations.
• Lead and supervise all functions of the ski school, including scheduling, staffing, inventory, and resource allocation.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of supervisors, instructors, and support staff.
• Uphold a guest-centric approach, monitor guest experience metrics, and resolve issues promptly.
• Work with risk and safety to adhere to policies and track incidents and improvements.
• Collaborate with IT, mountain ops, sales, and rentals to enhance employee and guest experience.
• Draft revenue, labor, and expense budgets with the Snowsports Director.
