Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking a Ski & Ride School Manager to oversee the daily operations of the ski and ride programs year-round, coordinating supervisors, staff, scheduling, inventory, and guest experiences under the Snowsports Director.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years in a leadership role within ski or outdoor recreation, PSIA/AASI Level 2 (Level 3 preferred); strong leadership, communication, budgeting, and HRIS/LMS experience; benefits include medical coverage,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5 years in a leadership role within a ski & ride school or outdoor recreation environment.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with empathy and fairness.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities across 1:1, group, and cross-functional settings.
• In-depth knowledge of ski school operations, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
• Understanding of HRIS, CMS and LMS programs (RTP, Flaik, Workday).
• Budget, scheduling, and resource management proficiency.
• Level 2 PSIA/AASI or equivalent; Level 3 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a team of supervisors to oversee on-hill and indoor staff.
• Lead and supervise all ski school functions: scheduling, staffing, inventory, timekeeping, and resource allocation.
• Recruit, train, and manage supervisors, instructors, and support staff with integrity.
• Maintain guest-centric service, track guest experience metrics, and address issues promptly.
• Collaborate with risk/safety to follow policies and track incidents.
• Partner with IT, mountain operations, sales, and rentals to enhance operations.
• Draft and manage budgets in partnership with the Snowsports Director.
