Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking a Civil Engineering Group Manager to lead our Site Development and Land Development efforts across the Midwest. This full-time role is based in Milwaukee, WI, with relocation assistance to Columbus, OH if needed.

You will lead design teams, mentor engineers, and manage project performance from concept through delivery, ensuring quality and on-time results for diverse public and private sector clients.

Qualifications

• Experience leading civil/site development projects.
• Experience managing design teams and budgets.
• Ability to mentor civil engineers and designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple design teams in daily operations
• Develop staffing needs and distribute work to balance workload
• Monitor project health including scope, schedule, and budgets
• Track workload, utilization, and billable hours
• Maintain strong client relationships
• Identify staffing needs with Civil Service Line leaders
• Mentor staff and support growth plans
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and manage projects
• Deliver tasks on time
• Coordinate with MSG teams across Surveying, Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Landscape Architecture, Funding Strategies/Grant Writing, and Construction Administration.
