Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) seeks a Civil Engineering Group Manager to lead the Midwest site development portfolio. You will manage design teams, mentor engineers, and supervise project execution, ensuring quality and timely delivery of complex civil projects.

Based in Columbus, OH, relocation is supported. The role emphasizes hands-on design leadership, client relations, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across surveying, environmental, geotechnical, and more.

Qualifications

• Lead and oversee the office’s civil engineering team for land/site development.
• Manage day-to-day operations, project execution, workload, and staff performance.
• Mentor civil engineers and designers, supporting growth and development.
• Oversee planning, design, and delivery of private development projects (site layout, grading, utilities, stormwater).
• Review construction documents for accuracy and quality, ensure compliance.

Responsabilités

• Lead multiple design teams in daily operations.
• Develop staffing needs and distribute work to balance workload.
• Monitor project health (scope, schedule, budget) and adjust as needed.
• Monitor workload, utilization, and billable hours across the group.
• Maintain strong client relationships and coordinate with governance lines.
• Identify staffing needs with line leaders and support training initiatives.
• Mentor staff while executing office and company growth plans.
• Prepare proposals/contracts and manage projects.
• Deliver tasks on time and within scope.
• Coordinate with MSG services across surveying, environmental, geotechnical, structural, etc.
