Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Pleasanton, CA, is seeking a Site Design Intern to join our civil site design team. You will apply coursework to the engineering and design of land development projects, ranging from small commercial pads to large mixed-use developments.

You will assist Senior Engineers with grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control plans, learn ASCE standards, attend site visits, and gain exposure to permitting, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program (prefer Civil).
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in preparing grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans for residential and commercial site development projects.
• Perform preliminary stormwater and utility calculations to support site layout and infrastructure design.
• Prepare and revise construction plan sets, details, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D under supervision.
• Assist with permitting submittals to local jurisdictions and respond to plan review comments.
• Coordinate with surveyors, landscape architects, and planners to integrate site design with development plans.
• Travel to project sites to observe conditions and support construction administration activities.
