Job summary

Police Athletic League, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director in New York, NY to supervise PAL's afterschool programming at elementary through high school sites. You will partner with school staff, police, and community organizations to deliver SEL, STEM, literacy, arts, and mental health supports.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, or evaluation.
• Open to learning and growing with mental health, SEL, and inclusion training.
• Two years of direct youth work with supervision or leadership.
• Ability to travel to PAL locations across five boroughs.

Responsibilities

• Foster social and emotional competencies and well-being in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Assist with management of PAL School Afterschool Programming and inclusion resources.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and support part-time staff and contractors.
• Ensure alignment with PAL policies, SACC regulations, and funding contracts.
• Develop Youth Development culture, provide training and coaching across programs.
• Coordinate with directors and HQ to grow unique site programming.
• Collect and analyze program data to inform PAL decisions.
• Maintain partnerships with NYPD, NYCPS, DYCD, DOH and community partners.
• Plan citywide programs, events, and activities.
• Provide mediation for on-site issues and crisis support.
